CHILLICOTHE, OH – Today, Senator Sherrod Brown kicked off a canvass launch in Chillicothe. Sherrod made brief remarks before volunteers and local veterans knocked on doors and talked to voters in Chillicothe.
While Sherrod worked across the aisle to successfully save the Chillicothe VA and ensure Ohio veterans continue receiving the treatment and care they deserve, Bernie Moreno recently disparaged the VA to a group of local residents in Chillicothe.
“Ohioans know I’ll work with anyone when it’s right for Ohioans and I’ll stand up to anyone who gets in the way,” said Senator Sherrod Brown. “That’s how we successfully saved the Chillicothe VA to make sure Ohio veterans in Southeast Ohio can access the health care they deserve. While my opponent has made it clear he won’t stand up for Ohio veterans and is only looking out for himself, I will continue fighting to protect all veterans.”
“Without Sherrod Brown, we couldn’t have saved the Chillicothe VA. He listened to us and immediately jumped into action. When it comes to fighting for Ohio veterans, Sherrod is the best partner there is,” said retired USAF Senior Master Sergeant and retired Chillicothe VA IT Supervisor Tom Yeager. “As a veteran and former Chillicothe VA employee, the choice for Ohio’s Senator is clear to me: Sherrod Brown, a proven fighter for Ohio’s veterans, or Bernie Moreno, who only looks out for himself.”
Sherrod helped kick off today’s canvass as part of the “Organizing For Ohio” coordinated campaign, a campaign of grassroots organizers and volunteers who are speaking directly to voters across Ohio to help reelect Sherrod and Democratic candidates up and down the ballot in 2024.
The “Organizing for Ohio” campaign is building an unprecedented grassroots operation with more than 4,000 volunteers and over 222,000 doors knocked statewide.
