COLUMBUS, OH – Last night, Sherrod joined
The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell to discuss his record of delivering for Ohioans. Sherrod’s work stands in stark contrast with Bernie Moreno, who has faced scrutiny for refusing to pay his workers the
overtime they earned, supporting a national
abortion ban that would overturn the will of Ohio voters, and making it clear he only looks out for himself.
Sherrod
: “In the end, I win these elections because I stand up to the drug companies, and I stand up to Wall Street… [I] stand up to the railroads, stand up to the oil companies. I think voters vote for me because they know I’ll stand up [for them].”
Lawrence O’Donnell: “5[7]% of your state voted to put abortion rights in the constitution. The Republican candidate for Senate you are running against wants a federal [abortion] ban.”
Sherrod: “Think of the arrogance of a candidate who gave $100,000 to try to defeat this issue last fall on the Ohio ballot to keep Ohio’s total abortion ban in place. Even after looking at the election returns… He still wants politicians to make these decisions, not women and their physicians. He still thinks that there should be a national abortion ban. He says, ‘I’m 100% pro-life.’”
