TOLEDO, OH – Today, Sherrod Brown rallied Ohioans with United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur in Toledo to highlight the stakes of the upcoming election and encourage Ohioans to make a voting plan and volunteer. During the rally, President Fain and the United Auto Workers announced their endorsement for Sherrod’s reelection campaign.
“I’m proud to have the support of UAW workers across the state as we stand together to fight for Ohio and the Dignity of Work,” said Senator Sherrod Brown. “Elections come down to one question: who’s on your side? I will always stand on the side of workers while my opponent has made clear he only looks out for himself and his special interest friends.”
“No one fights for autoworkers like Sherrod Brown – from standing with UAW members on the picket line to fighting bad trade deals that ship American jobs overseas,” said Shawn Fain, President of the UAW. “While Bernie Moreno has made it clear he only looks out for himself, the UAW is proud to endorse Sherrod and fight for him like he always fights for us.”
While Sherrod fights for Ohioans and the Dignity of Work, Bernie Moreno has made it clear he only looks out for himself – from stiffing his workers out of the overtime they earned and shredding documents a judge ordered him to keep to get away with it, to selling the Chinese-made Buick Envision which shipped Ohio jobs overseas, to supporting a national abortion ban.

Sherrod will always fight for workers and the Dignity of Work because no matter who you are, where you live, or what job you do, he understands your work has dignity:
- Sherrod has always fought for Ohio autoworkers, including joining the strike last year in Toledo and calling on big automakers to agree to a fair contract with better wages and safer working conditions.
- When Wall Street gambled away Ohioans’ retirement, Sherrod led the fight to save the pensions of over 100,000 Ohioans through the Butch Lewis Act, securing $19.1 million in pension funding for Toledo Roofers Local 134 and saving Spangler Candy Company in Bryan $200,000 per new employee – allowing the company to expand production and creating 40 new union jobs.
- Sherrod has stood up to presidents of both parties against bad trade deals and policies that would hurt Ohio manufacturers – like First Solar in Toledo – and send Ohio jobs overseas.
- Sherrod worked to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law with prevailing wage requirements, creating good-paying jobs for workers in the trades across Ohio while rebuilding our infrastructure – like Front Street in Toledo.
- Sherrod wrote and passed the bipartisan PACT Act to secure healthcare and benefits for veterans exposed to toxins and burn pits during their service. Sherrod has hosted roundtables across the state – including in Toledo – to ensure veterans are aware of the benefits available to them.
- Sherrod introduced the Restoring Overtime Pay Act to enshrine overtime pay protections into law and expand who qualifies for overtime pay so millions more Americans are paid for the hours they work.
