Canton Repository: Lake Twp. third-graders Skype with a senator
Don’t be surprised if in six years when he is running for re-election, Sen. Sherrod Brown’s campaign literature comes with a Rice Krispie treat or a lollipop.
If so, credit Michael Groholy’s third grade class at Uniontown Elementary School.
The students spoke with Brown on Tuesday by Skype and had the opportunity to ask him questions about his job and the recent election.
Melinda Hench told Brown that when they held their class election, the candidates used treats to persuade their classmates to vote for them.
“Did you pass out snacks to get them to vote for you?” Melinda asked.
“Snacks?” said an amused Brown. “No, we pass out things for them to read. It’s not as fun as snacks.”
