He’s Not Just Bored Of Deposits – New Report Shows Mandel’s Blown Off Literally Dozens & Dozens Of Official State Meetings
Latest Scandal Comes Days After Mandel Lied About Dispatch Reporter’s Eyewitness Account Of Josh Intimidating An Opposition Staffer On Tape
If you thought Josh Mandel’s refusal to do his job only went as far as blowing off the Board of Deposit … boy, were you wrong. A new report by Salon has found that of the eight state boards that the Treasurer is charged with attending, Josh Mandel blew off every single meeting of every single one during his first year in office.
Salon reports:
“[I]t’s not just meetings of the Board of Deposit that Mandel has skipped. The Ohio State Treasurer serves on an additional seven boards or commissions… The eight boards have met a total of 48 times since Mandel took office, and he hadn’t attended a single meeting of any of them until catching heat for skipping the Board of Deposit meetings… Mandel still hasn’t attended any of the other boards’ meetings, and his seven appearances at the Board of Deposit — all since the controversy began — remain the only times he’s attended any of the meetings. In his first 14 months in office, his attendance record was zero.
That’s right. In addition to blowing off the billion-dollar Board of Deposit, Josh Mandel has skipped every single meeting of seven other state boards he serves on.
“Josh Mandel’s wildly out-of-control political ambition has led him to completely ignore his job and turned the Treasurer’s office that he’s supposed to run into nothing more than a place to change clothes in between campaign stops,” said Justin Barasky, communications director for Friends of Sherrod Brown. “Josh should be ashamed of the way he’s handled himself as Treasurer and of the unqualified political cronies he’s installed to mind the store while he’s out raising cash for his Senate run and attempting to physically intimidate opposition staffers.”
