Bombshell Investigate Story Revealed Mandel Crony Joel Riter Employed By Lobbyist Chairman Of Government Integrity Fund

A bombshell investigation by Pro Publica has revealed that Joel Riter, the Mandel crony-turned-lobbyist whose lobbying of the treasurer’s office weeks from his departure from it sparked an ethics complaint from an Ohio legislator, shockingly works for Tom Norris, the lobbyist who also chairs the secretly-funded Government Integrity Fund (GIF). GIF has spent more than $1 million against Sherrod on Ohio airwaves.

Despite Riter’s attempts to hide his past employment by removing information from his LinkedIn profile page, the Friends of Sherrod Brown campaign has put together Riter’s resume, which paints a clear picture of an individual working tirelessly to further Josh Mandel’s political career, at times on the taxpayer’s dime.

“The fact that one of Josh Mandel’s unqualified political cronies in the Treasurer’s office not only lobbied the Treasurer’s office after his departure, but is employed by the lobbyist who runs a secretly funded attack group that’s spent more than a million against Sherrod Brown raises even more questions about the lengths Mandel will go to win this election and proves Josh simply can’t be trusted,” said Sadie Weiner, Friends of Sherrod Brown spokeswoman. ” Josh Mandel has a well-documented history of rewarding political cronies and friends with hefty salaries and raises on the taxpayer’s dime, but the tens of thousands of dollars he doled out to lobbyist Joel Riter just before he went to work for the head of a secretly-funded special interest group represents a new low, even for Josh.”
