In Advance of the 92nd Anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote, Video Features Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund.
Today the Sherrod Brown campaign released a new web video “True Champion” featuring Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund confirming Senator Sherrod Brown’s proven track record of standing up for Ohio’s women and families.
Sen. Brown voted against laws that barred funding in the budget to Planned Parenthood. When
Susan G. Komen cut funding to Planned Parenthood, Sen. Brown publicly urged them to reverse their decision and the effort was successful. For his commitment to Ohio’s women and families, Sen. Brown has earned a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

“Over the past two years, politicians have been all too willing to put women’s health on the chopping block. But women in Ohio have a true champion in Senator Sherrod Brown,” said Richards. “Time and time again, he has stepped up for the priorities that matter to women in Ohio, even when it feels like deja vu, fighting the same battles we won decades ago. Sherrod voted for affordable birth control and stood up against attempts to gut preventive care programs that keep women and families healthy.”
On August 26, women will celebrate the anniversary of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote and a voice in shaping American politics. More about Sen. Brown’s record of fighting for Ohio’s women can be found HERE.
