Volunteer Spotlight: Brad from Springboro

Brad is a superstar volunteer from Springboro, OH. We sat down with him to find out what inspires him in this election, and why he’s volunteering for Sherrod.

How long have you been volunteering for the Sherrod Brown campaign (and/or for the Democrats)?

I have been volunteering for the Democrats since the summer of 2008.  I volunteer for the Warren County Democratic Party (WCDP), for ODP, for Sherrod Brown and for OFA.

What inspired you to volunteer for Sherrod Brown this year?

Senator Brown is very focused on helping the middle class. He was instrumental in saving the auto industry which protected thousands of Ohio jobs. He fights for the benefits our veterans deserve. And he is actively working to address the problem of Chinese currency manipulation. I’ve met Sherrod Brown—he talks specifically about what he is doing to help Ohioans. He’s not the type of politician who spends time worrying about his appearance, he’s the type of politician who spends time working on legislation to protect and create American jobs, ensure there is affordable health care available to all, and that Wall Street does not take over and gamble away our Social Security. Just ask him, he’ll tell you!

What issue is most important to you in this years election?

The unfair transfer of wealth from the middle/working class to the top percent in this country.

What is your favorite part of volunteering?

I like working with like minded people who genuinely care about their community and are willing to volunteer to make it better for everyone.
