Tradition is cherished in the U.S. Senate. When you think of Sen. Sherrod Brown, you might not think traditional, but the Democrat appears to deeply respect the rich traditions and history of his chamber of Congress.

So Brown, re-elected in November to a second term, will follow tradition Thursday by having a former senator and political hero, John Glenn, escort him down the aisle to be sworn in.
