Plain Dealer: Ohioans celebrate Obama’s inauguration
When it was over and the VIPs and campaign volunteers and ordinary Americans were leaving, Sarah Lee, a school bus driver from Columbus, stood near the west front of the U.S. Capitol, within shouting distance of where President Barack Obama took his ceremonial oath of office.
She was waving the state flag of Ohio.
“Ohio did it!” she said, her pride obvious as people streamed past. “We took him over the top.”
Massillon residents Nancy Musselman and Sharon Anderson were thrilled to have their photos taken with CNN’S Anderson Cooper. Later, they attended a reception in the office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, an Avon Democrat, and posed for pictures with him, too. The pair
say they’ve attended every presidential inauguration since Ronald Reagan’s second one.
