2020

It’s only been a couple of weeks since the election. You may have seen news coverage confirming that, for the first time in my career, I am considering running for President.

I am reading your comments about this on Facebook and Twitter, and in private messages. What an honor to be part of that conversation.

There is a lot of work to do to help families across Ohio and this nation. I take that fight and that responsibility very seriously.

Too many leaders in Washington don’t understand the dignity of work. Our economic policies reward huge companies that ship jobs overseas and leave workers behind. CEOs rake in massive bonuses after taking away workers’ rights to bargain for better working conditions and benefits.

We have to continue fighting for all Americans — regardless of your zip code, color of your skin, your religion, or whom you love. Whether you swipe a badge or punch a clock, rely on tips, or collect a salary.

Our victory showed what happens when you fight for the people who make this country work — and that is a blueprint for how Democrats can win in 2020. Over the coming weeks and months, Connie and I will be discussing with family and friends whether I should run for President. But one thing is already clear: I wouldn’t be running for President alone.

Everything that we’ve accomplished has not been because of one person — it’s because of this movement. Our successes are the result of grassroots organizing. When people like you stand together and fight for our friends, family, neighbors, and communities, we make change a reality. That’s why it’s so important that I hear your opinion about 2020. If you can, let us know your thoughts now.

Thank you for being a member of the best grassroots team in the country.

Onward, and with gratitude,

Sherrod
