I know I’ve been sending you a lot of fundraising messages lately and honestly that’s because the fight to win back Congress is at a serious tipping point right now. Today I’m going to ask you to support my colleague Sherrod Brown in his re-election campaign. I hope you’ll give me a quick moment to explain why he needs your help this week.

Here’s why you should support Sherrod Brown today:

I can tell you from firsthand experience that no elected official in Congress has been a more reliable leader against this Administration’s agenda and Wall Street greed and abuse than Sherrod Brown. That’s why special interest groups have spent so much to defeat him.

Sherrod’s opponent is a Trump-endorsed registered lobbyist who failed to disclose $50,000 in campaign contributions a few years ago. If he wins, he’ll rubberstamp the worst of the White House’s agenda: from eliminating protections for pre-existing conditions to their anti-immigrant agenda.

Finally — and I know you hear me say this a lot — we cannot take back Congress if we lose Sherrod. Trump won Ohio by nine points just a few years ago and Republicans think they can do it again in 2018. Proving them wrong is critical to building a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate.
