“Apparently I have a distinct voice.”

Have you heard? We’ve got a new contest: If you’re one of the lucky winners, you’ll get Sherrod’s voice on your outgoing voicemail message.

Read his message about the contest below, and then be sure to get your name in.

Team —

Honestly, my staff tells me I have a distinct voice. They’re…not the first ones to bring that to my attention.

But they are the first ones who want to make it a contest prize.

You probably know by now that the end of June is the end of the FEC fundraising deadline. We’re trying to raise $600,000 the way we usually do — one average online contribution of $26 at a time.

These goals are important. Not only because it’s an election year, or because I’m being attacked, or because the special interest groups would probably give their substantial bank accounts to see me out of the Senate. It’s important because hitting these goals allows us to fight for our values. Higher wages. Affordable healthcare. Workers’ rights.

We’re short of our goal, and we have to reach it. So here’s what we’re going to do.

If you give $5 or more toward our FEC goal, you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to have me leave your outgoing voicemail message. We’ll choose five winners at the end of the month. When your friends call and you can’t answer, they’ll hear me. You could even send them to voicemail on purpose, just to hear my dulcet tones. Sound good? Get your name in now.

Good luck!

With gratitude,

Sherrod Brown
