FRIENDS OF SHERROD BROWN RAISES $3.7 MILLION IN SECOND QUARTER, REPORTS $11.1 MILLION CASH ON HAND
$34 Average Contribution Shows Strong Grassroots Support Building Towards Election Day
COLUMBUS — Friends of Sherrod Brown raised $3.7 million in the second quarter of 2018. This is the campaign’s biggest haul of the 2018 election and nearly $700,000 more than Sherrod raised in the second quarter of 2012. The campaign ended the period with $11.1 million on hand, exceeding the campaign’s cash on hand at this point in 2012 by $4.6 million.
33,775 individuals contributed to Sherrod’s campaign in the second quarter, bringing the number of total contributors for the cycle to 139,516. The average contribution was just $34 this quarter, proving that Sherrod’s record and message of fighting for working families across Ohio continues to resonate with his grassroots supporters.
“Sherrod has always stood up for Ohio workers and families, and he’s grateful for their support,” said Rachel Petri, Friends of Sherrod Brown spokesperson. “Ohioans from across the state are committed to re-electing Sherrod so he can keep fighting for them in the Senate. They are volunteering their time, contributing what they can, and building a grassroots campaign to defeat the D.C. lobbyists and special interests that want to replace Sherrod with one of their own.”
