International Union of Police Associations Endorses Sherrod Brown for Re-Election
COLUMBUS — The International Union of Police Associations (IUPA) endorsed Sherrod Brown for re-election to the U.S. Senate. This is the third major endorsement Sherrod has received this cycle from a first responder organization. The Ohio Fraternal Order of Police and Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters also endorsed Sherrod’s re-election.
“Ohio police officers have no greater ally in the U.S. Senate than Senator Sherrod Brown,” said IUPA International President Sam A. Cabral. “Sherrod has stood up for funding for local departments and access to the equipment and healthcare they need. He’s worked with state and local law enforcement to help them adapt as they respond to the opioid epidemic. He’s always been on the side of officers and has earned our endorsement.”
“Ohio’s police force and local departments are critical to the safety of our communities, and are partners in Ohio’s efforts to combat the opioid epidemic. We must do everything we can to help them adapt to the epidemic, and to equip them with the tools they need to do their jobs,” said Senator Sherrod Brown. “Thank you to the International Union of Police Associations for their support, and for all they do to advance the safety of law enforcement professionals.”
