American workers pay into Social Security with the understanding that when we reach retirement, or if something unexpected stops us from being able to work, Social Security will be there. It’s more than a social program — it’s a promise.
Any changes to Social Security should be focused on improving the program, and securing it for this and future generations of seniors — not cutting back benefits.
I oppose any cuts to Social Security as part of the budget negotiations — including Chained CPI.
