Women are an integral part of our nation’s economy. They make up close to half of our labor force and work just as hard as their male counterparts. Yet in 2015 — more than 50 years after Congress signed the Equal Pay Act into law — women are still waiting for the wage gap to close.
This month marks the 52nd anniversary of the Equal Pay Act. Democrats are fighting to close the gap so that women earn equal pay for equal work, but in governor’s offices, state legislatures, and Congress, Republicans are holding women back.
