No one should be dogged by debts they do not owe.
Yet each year, thousands of Americans are haunted by “zombie debt.” It is debt that has been settled, but still continues to affect consumers’ credit scores or remains subject to collections.
Having a good credit score is important. It can impact your ability to buy a house or a car or even get a job. That’s why I am joining Senator Sherrod Brown to demand you hold banks and debt collection agencies accountable so that consumers are not burdened with debt they do not owe.
