Speaker Ryan and House Republicans,
You had the chance to live up to President-elect Trump’s promise to take Buy America provisions seriously. You had the opportunity to require water infrastructure projects to use American iron and steel over foreign products.
You’ve failed once again. You’ve chosen countries like China and Russia over workers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. And those workers will be left to pay the price.
There’s still time. I demand you restore Buy America requirements in plans to rebuild our water infrastructure.
