Tell Trump and Mulvaney: Fight for Consumers

President Trump weakened the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) the day he decided to ignore the succession process laid out in Dodd-Frank and appoint Mick Mulvaney interim director. Mulvaney once called the agency “a sick sad joke.”

The CFPB is supposed to protect consumers from financial firms that scam their customers. It’s supposed to be a watchdog agency. But Mulvaney is stripping it of all its bite.

The CFPB shouldn’t be going easy on greedy companies cheating Americans out of their hard-earned paychecks.
