Yesterday, as President Obama said, was a great day for our country.
With the president's signature, we strengthened our military and won a huge victory for civil rights. And finally closed the sordid chapter of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
The John Phillips Sousa music, the tears, the boisterous crowd, the shouts of "Thank you, Mr President" and "We want to join up again" — all made for the most unforgettable bill signing that I have ever attended.
