Brook Park Ford plant visited by federal officials
SunStar Courier – BROOK PARK — Christina D. Romer, chairwoman of the Council of Economic Advisers for President Barack Obama, and U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown visited Ford Engine Plant No. 1 last week.
Romer, an economist, and Brown visited the engine assembly line and spoke with workers after Romer earlier spoke at the City Club of Cleveland on the topic, “Treatment and Prevention: Ending the Great Recession and Ensuring that it Never Happens Again.”
Mayor Mark Elliott and Council President Michael Gammella, president of United Auto Workers Local 1250, also visited the plant. Elliott said their message to Romer was, “jobs, jobs, jobs,” adding, “Everyone was working together.”
