Brown County holds ‘Support Our Troops’ rally
Georgetown News Democrat – GEORGETOWN – A crowd came out to show support for the men and women who serve in the United States military Tuesday during a special event at the Ohio Veterans Home.
Brown County’s “Support Our Troops Rally,” presented in a cooperative effort by the OVH and the Brown County Commissioners, was fortunate in terms of weather and attendance this year. The skies were clear of rain and the Ripley and Georgetown Fire Departments hoisted a huge flag behind the OVH’s outdoor pavilion which, combined with countless flags lining the entrance way and carried by attendees, provided an excellent backdrop for local residents to show their support for military personnel.
Andrew M. Vogel, OVH administrator, welcomed the crowd and emceed the event, which featured several speakers, including veterans who have served the country in times of war.
Vogel said Brown County’s Troop Rally event has continued to grow.
