Brown makes two stops in Defiance
Crescent News – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) made two stops in Defiance Tuesday — one at Powertrain, the other at a sewer construction site.
With a work crew noisily building a new sewer behind him on Deatrick Street, Brown addressed a small crowd — mostly city and county officials — assembled in the Chief Market Square parking lot. The backdrop was a combined sewer overflow (CSO) elimination project just to the south on Deatrick Street.
The venue was no coincidence.
Brown focused his attention there on water and sewer projects — most mandated by EPA — which are costing communities millions of dollars.
