Brown pushes for legislation to repurpose derelict areas
The Morning Journal – WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown is pushing for legislation to help small and mid-size cities and towns cope with the growing cancer of vacant property as they lose population and jobs.
The Livable Communities Act of 2010 cleared the Senate Banking Committee yesterday, with an amendment based on Brown’s Community Regeneration, Sustainability and Innovation Act, introduced last year.
