Brown seeks Expansion of Clean Energy Tax Credit Program
WCPN – Brown is pushing a bill he introduced that would expand on clean energy manufacturing tax credits provided by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act – the stimulus bill passed in early 2009.
That funding (known as the 48C program, for the section of the stimulus bill that defines it) has run dry, leaving about 5.8 billion dollars worth of projects unfunded. Brown says that puts the U.S. at risk of losing the chance to take the lead in new clean energy options like solar and wind.
