Brown, Snowe Urge Vote on Currency Bill
Business Journal Daily – WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, are jointly calling for a vote on legislation to address China's manipulation of its currency.
The senators sent a letter Monday to Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell urging action before the Senate adjourns this year on the Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act, passed by the U.S. House of Representatives in September. The legislation, which would address China’s unlawful practice of currency manipulation, was co-sponsored by U.S. Reps. Tim Ryan, D-17 Ohio, and Tim Murphy, R-18 Pa.
