Brown, Strickland lobby Washington for big projects
Columbus Dispatch – WASHINGTON – Gov. Ted Strickland and Sen. Sherrod Brown were in full campaign mode yesterday, but it was federal officials who they were trying to win over rather than Ohio voters.
The Ohio Democrats lobbied Energy Secretary Steven Chu for federal support of two projects in central and southern Ohio: a proposed Coda Automotive battery factory in Columbus that would employ 1,000 people and the long-planned uranium-enrichment plant in Piketon that could mean 450 permanent jobs.
