City work to rely on grants, stimulus
Dayton Daily News – BEAVERCREEK — City officials are applying to multiple agencies — local, state and federal — for grant and other funding to pay for a handful of important roadway improvement projects.
The applications, approved by council members Jan. 25, include road resurfacing, bridge replacement and interchange modifications.
The largest request is to Ohio’s U.S senators, Sherrod Brown and George Voinovich, for $10.1 million in federal earmarks for the next steps in the U.S. 35 interchange project.
The plans are to remove the last signaled intersections along the highway between Dayton and the West Virginia line.
