Cleveland Heights gets grant to hire three firefighters, return to a full staff
Sun Star Courier – CLEVELAND HEIGHTS — The city will hire three firefighters after learning this morning that it has received a $458,286 grant to do so.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown’s office called the Fire Department Tuesday morning to announce that the city has been awarded the Department of Homeland Security’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant.
“Our first responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio,” Brown said in a press release. “These funds ensure that firefighters in Cleveland Heights have the personnel resources they need to perform their jobs safely.”
