Congress corrects costly mistake
WDTN – Dayton, OHIO (WDTN) – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio told 2 NEWS what would have been a costly mistake has been corrected and the fix will help hospitals like Dayton Children's.
Brown said that because the health care bill is so complex congress made a mistake that would have stopped children's hospitals from getting significant discounts on drugs known as "orphan drugs." The drugs treat rare diseases and for years manufacturers have been required to provide them at deep discounts to clinics, health care centers, and more recently children's hospitals.
