Dems, GOP fight over manufacturing bill
Cincinnati Enquirer – A group of Democratic Senators, including Ohio’s Sherrod Brown, said Friday they are bringing a new bill to a vote next week that would close tax loopholes for companies that send jobs overseas, and create tax credits for those that bring jobs back to the United States. The decision sets up a political showdown with their Republican counterparts.
“Our tax policies have to help working Americans and not stab them in the back,” Brown said in a conference call with several other senators, including New York’s Chuck Schumer, Pennsylvania’s Don Casey, Illinois’ Dick Durbin, Michigan’s Debbie Stabenow, and Vermont’s independent Bernie Sanders.
