Jobless Americans lobby Congress for extended benefits
The Plain Dealer – CLEVELAND, Ohio — Jobless Americans are imploring Congress to grant them more weeks of unemployment benefits, but a planned deluge of e-mails and faxes Wednesday amounted to only a trickle.
"It has been more like a steady stream over the last few weeks instead of a burst today," said Allison Preiss, a press secretary for U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, Democrat of Ohio.
