Jobless await vote on benefits extension
Marietta Times – If the latest statistics are any indication, people are going back to work in Washington County, but the clock is ticking for those who still haven't found a job following layoffs that began more than a year ago.
"The last extension of unemployment expires Dec. 4, and (unless Congress intervenes) there won't be any more for workers who have exhausted their benefits," said Kathy Lott-Gramkow, director of employment and training at Washington-Morgan Community Action on Putnam Street.
