LaTourette, Brown among local politicians heading back to a new situation in Washington

The News-Herald — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, said the new Congress — like the new year — holds the promise of opportunity.

“The 112th Congress will build upon the successes of the last two years, and Ohioans will continue to reap the benefits from policies that put the middle class first,” Brown said. “Starting in January 2009, this Congress went to work combating the economic recession and creating jobs for Americans.”

Brown said Congress passed an economic recovery package that brought jobs and critical benefits to thousands of communities across America, and a jobs bill to give small businesses access to credit to hire more workers.

“And thanks to our President, who believes — as I do — in the staying power of the American-made automobile, the auto industry in Ohio has made a stunning turnaround,” Brown said.
