Leipsic steel-coating plant gets $500,000 grant; expects to create 80 new jobs
Toledo Blade – LEIPSIC, Ohio — The owners of Pro-Tec Coating Co. have announced a $400 million expansion that will add equipment, a 415,000-square-foot building, and up to 80 new jobs at its Leipsic facility.
United States Steel Corp. and Kobe Steel Ltd. of Japan said they have reached an agreement to begin construction on a continuous annealing line at the site, to provide coated steel products for the automotive industry. The additional line is expected to generate 500 temporary construction jobs as it is built over a two-year period in this Putnam County community 45 miles south of Toledo.
