Moraine industrial sites set to receive federal renovation money
WHIO – MORAINE, Ohio — Two former General Motors industrial sites in Moraine, the GM assembly plant and the Delphi parts plant, are among 90 cites the government has allocated money towards clean-up and reuse.
The Obama administration announced the $836 million project Tuesday, May 18 in Washington D.C.
The plan calls for a trust to be established that would include $536 million for the cleanup of properties and $300 million to help states and communities cover property taxes, demolition costs, plant security and other related expenses. There is no word yet as to what will actually be done at the sites.
