Obama adviser talking manufacturing in Columbus

Columbus Business First – An adviser to President Barack Obama is in Columbus Wednesday to push for the expansion of a federal manufacturing tax credit aimed at growing the nation’s advanced energy trade.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown’s office said the Ohio Democrat will join Gov. Ted Strickland and Ron Bloom, Obama’s senior counselor for manufacturing policy, at the Edison Welding Institute in Columbus Wednesday afternoon. Scheduled is a roundtable discussion on what Brown and others say is an urgent need to expand the federal 48C tax credit, a 30 percent incentives for companies building domestic capacity.
