OH Sen Brown Backing Renewed Effort For Campaign Finance Bill
WCPN – Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown is pushing a new bill he says will shed light on corporate influence of elections. The legislation is in response to the recent Supreme Court ruling — that scrapped laws restricting corporate spending in support of federal candidates on free speech grounds. Democrats have made the so-called ‘DISCLOSE Act’ a major priority this year and Senator Sherrod Brown is among its staunchest supporters in the Senate. He says corporations and their vast wealth are drowning out individual voices.
