Ohio institutions to get $27M for biomedical research facilities
Med City News – Ohio will receive more than $27 million in federal stimulus money to improve its biomedical research facilities.
The latest flow of a continuing stream of stimulus grants comes from the National Center for Research Resources of the National Institutes of Health, according to Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown.
The money is aimed at helping to construct, repair and renovate scientific research laboratories. The projects will support immediate construction jobs and will promote long-term economic growth, Brown said.
– The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University will get $2 million for laboratory renovations to create additional space for research to improve diagnosis and cure rates in cancer.
