OU Meets Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown
Jewish Action – Key Orthodox Union lay and synagogue leadership in the Cleveland, Ohio community met yesterday with U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown in a meeting facilitated by the Orthodox Union’s Institute for Public Affairs (IPA). The discussion was hosted by the Fuchs Mizrachi School in Cleveland, whose students enjoyed a session with the Senator following the leadership meeting.
During the leadership meeting, community members expressed their concerns regarding key issues, including economic initiatives to assist the non-profit sector in the economic downturn; US-Israel relations; and the Senator’s work in support of increased sanctions on Iran.
Gary Weiss, president of Fuchs Mizrachi School, remarked:
I thought it was a wonderful opportunity for the school and community that a United States Senator would come to Fuchs Mizrachi School to listen to the issues concerning our parents and our high school students.
