Reps. still pushing for hearing on steel benefits
The Independent – U.S. Reps. John Boccieri and Dennis Kucinich are pushing for a congressional hearing for local steelworkers who claim they were denied pension benefits by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation during the Bush administration.
“John is still pushing for the hearing that he mentioned on the campaign trail and otherwise for the many retired steelworkers in our district who deserve the benefits they worked so hard to earn and are rightfully theirs,” said Jessica Kershaw, a spokeswoman for Boccieri. “He remains hopeful Congressman Kucinich may be able to gather a hearing before the end of the year.”
