Sen. Brown Pushes Small Businesses To Export
WLWT – CINCINNATI — Sen. Sherrod Brown's advice to small businesses: Export, export, export.
Brown, Rep. Steve Driehaus and U.S. Export-Import Bank Chairman Fred Hochberg met for a seminar Monday to discuss job creation among Ohio's smaller businesses.
Brown told about 100 business leaders that only 1 percent of small businesses currently export products.
The senator said that for every $1 billion worth of products exported to other nations, 15,000 U.S. jobs are created.
"Everything is about job creation. If they can sell more abroad, it's money in the pockets of these small businesses, it's raises, it's health care and pension benefits for people in Cincinnati who are working now or who are not for sure what their future holds or for people who are not working now," Brown said.
