Sen. Sherrod Brown: Obama must push Dem lawmakers harder on healthcare
The Hill – President Barack Obama hasn't pushed Democrats hard enough behind closed doors to pass healthcare reform, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) said Thursday.
Brown said that Obama needs to step up his push for health reform in the next few weeks if he wants the Congress to move on the top piece of legislation.
"I think he needs to press harder than he has in the last year," Brown said during an appearance on MSNBC when asked if Obama had pushed Democrats enough behind the scene.
Brown, who's among a group of Democrats who has clamored for more forceful leadership from the president, said Obama would need to push hard "especially in these next three weeks" if the president wishes to see a bill passed.
