Sherrod Brown talks student aid reform at University of Toledo
WTOL – TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – Thousands of students will be impacted by changes to the federal student loan program, so Senator Sherrod Brown (D) visited the University of Toledo campus Tuesday to explain the changes.
President Barack Obama signed the so-called "fix it" bill for health care reform, which included changes aimed at making college more affordable Tuesday.
In fact, Brown says because of the changes students will get more money for books and tuition. He also says the changes will not cost taxpayers more money.
As the cost of higher education rises, more UT students are relying on Pell Grants to fund their education.
