Union Twp. wins fire equipment grant
cincinnati.com – UNION TWP. – The Fire Department has been awarded a federal grant of nearly $275,000 to buy breathing packs for firefighters and cardiac monitors/defibrillators.
Four replacement cardiac monitors/defibrillators, which cost about $25,000 apiece, will be purchased, Fire Chief Stanley G. Deimling said. The grant also will help pay for 34 breathing packs (also called self-contained breathing apparatus) and spare air tanks.
The federal government is to cover 90 percent of the cost, and the township will pay the rest, Deimling said.
