Vietnam vet finally receives long-delayed medal
The Columbus Dispatch – Vietnam War veteran Joseph Thomas received a Purple Heart yesterday, 40 years after the Columbus-area native was awarded it for wounds suffered in the war.
Thomas said he was humbled by the honor at a Downtown ceremony at the Bricker Federal Building.
