Voted-out members muddy tax issue
Columbus Dispatch – WASHINGTON – When Rep. John Boccieri returns to Capitol Hill this week, the Alliance Democrat will be a lame-duck lawmaker attending a lame-duck session of Congress – and in no mood to act on a slew of tax cuts set to expire Dec. 31.
It appears that defeat-stung Democrats and victory-emboldened Republicans might agree to extend, at least for a year or two, all the 2001 and 2003 Bush administration tax breaks – including those for wealthier Americans.
