Word on paper tariff arrived at right time for Brown
The Columbus Dispatch – Sen. Sherrod Brown was visiting SMART Paper in Hamilton on Friday when he got the word on his Blackberry: The International Trade Commission had unanimously voted to slap tariffs on Chinese coated-paper imports. He quickly read aloud the news to a handful of workers, and a cheer went up.
Brown has been calling for the commission to act, arguing that China has been dumping its coated paper in the United States, hurting companies such as SMART Paper.
