Zane State president returns from D.C. with new ideas
Zanesville Times Recorder – ZANESVILLE –The president of Zane State College is bringing several ideas and concepts back from Washington, D.C., with him today.
Where higher learning institutions can look to receive more federal funding, have more internships available for students and expand career pathways for students by offering more degrees are a few of the concepts Paul Brown is bringing back.
For the third consecutive year, Brown attended the annual Ohio College and University Presidents' Conference on Tuesday in Washington, D.C., hosted by Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.
"It's a very useful conference, and I plan to attend if he does this again next year. Every year, we seem to be growing in strength," Paul said.
He was among 55 other college and university presidents who attended from the state.
Paul said the conference focused on access and affordability, the workforce investment act, teacher education incentives and reform.
The first portion of the day was spent reviewing ideas and concepts advisory committees had come up with after meeting periodically throughout the year.
